How long does the study last?

I forgot my account password. What do I do?

On the Study Dashboard log-in page, there is a Forget Password button that you can click if you forget your account password. You will have the ability to reset your password through a link emailed to you. Please contact us if you have any problems resetting your password or accessing your account.

What if I want to withdraw from the study?

To withdraw from the study on your own and no longer receive study-related communications from us, please follow the instructions below HERE.
To withdraw your consent and be removed from the study, login to your Study Dashboard or go to the Minds2021 app. Click on Settings. Once in your Account Settings select Withdraw From Study.
Please note:

By withdrawing, you will no longer be able to participate in the study.

You will not be able to rejoin the study, should you change your mind.

You will only be compensated for your completed study contributions.
Lastly, if you would like us to execute the withdrawal on your behalf, please let us know by sending us an email or giving us a call.

How do I find my informed consent form?

The informed consent document (ICF) was presented to you at the beginning of the study. A signed copy was emailed to you after you electronically signed the document. You can download a signed copy from your Study Dashboard, as well. Please contact us if you have any problems locating your ICF.

How do I know what operating system my phone is using?

For iOS (iPhone) Users -- Go to Settings > General > About > Version. Make sure it reads 13 or newer.
For Android Users -- Go to Settings > About Phone or About Device > Tap Android Version. Make sure it reads 10 or newer.

How do I turn on Wi-Fi?

What is bluetooth?

- What if I already own a Fitbit?
- Please use the Fitbit Versa 3 provided to you for this study. We ask that you disconnect any other Fitbit connections that you may have in order to provide accurate data for this study. CLICK HERE (https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1715.htm) and scroll down to the section called How do I remove a Fitbit device from my account? for instructions on disconnecting existing Fitbit connections. If you need help disconnecting an existing Fitbit connection, please schedule a setup call so a member of the Achievement Studies support team can assist you.
- Do I have to wear my Fitbit all the time?
- We ask that you wear your Fitbit as much as possible during the day and while you sleep. The best time to charge your Fitbit is during the times when you are awake and the least active (e.g., between dinner and bedtime or when you are getting ready for the day).
- How often should I charge my Fitbit device?
- We recommend charging your Fitbit every few days. The best time to charge your Fitbit is during the times when you are awake and the least active (e.g., between dinner and bedtime or when you are getting ready for the day).
- How often should I sync my Fitbit data to the Fitbit app?
- To ensure that Achievement Studies has your most recent activity information, please sync your Fitbit app with your device at least once a day. To sync your data, open the Fitbit once a day and your data will automatically sync. Your information may take up to 24 hours to be completely accurate.
- What if my Fitbit broke or I need a replacement?
- If your Fitbit device becomes damaged or you lose your device during the study, please contact Achievement Studies support as soon as possible. We’ll help you facilitate a replacement device and provide you with device return materials, if necessary.
- How will I get paid for participating?
- Please click HERE for more information regarding compensation.
- I forgot to complete an activity on time. What happens now?
- Unfortunately, study activities cannot be accessed or completed past the due date. We ask that you continue in the study by completing your next available survey or activity.
- What happens if I don't complete the daily survey by midnight?
- You will only have one opportunity to take the daily surveys. If you miss the notification to take the survey we cannot resend it, but don’t worry, you can take the next survey the following day.
- What will my blood sample be used for?

Per your signed Informed Consent Form (ICF), your sample may be used for future de-identified research (meaning your name and identifying information is not included).
Evidation Health will maintain the link between your identity and the frozen blood sample for the 6-month study period and up to the 6-months following the end of the study period, for a maximum of 12 months. If you consent to your sample being stored as a part of this research study, you can change your mind and withdraw your consent during the approximately 6 months of the study and possibly up to 6 months after the study ends by contacting study+minds2021@myachievement.com.
If you withdraw your consent and your sample is still linked to your unique code, your sample will be destroyed and not used for additional research after your consent is withdrawn. If your sample is no longer linked to your unique code, your sample will be unable to be destroyed and may be used for future de-identified research. Results of any research or testing as part of this future research will not be provided to you, as these tests are being performed for research use only.

- What happens if I don't delete the Minds2021 app at the end of the study?
- Achievement Studies will disconnect any data connections at the end of the Study, however we encourage you to delete the app. You can still access your Study Dashboard by logging in on a computer or tablet.

Why do I need to share my location data with the Minds2021 app?

Minds2021 uses location data for your participation. Location permissions must be set to Always (iPhone) or Allow all the time (Android) to participate in the Minds 2021 Study.

What happens if I accidentally turn off location data sharing in my phone?
-
If you turn off location data sharing in your phone, please open the Minds2021 app. The app will let you know if the settings have been changed and provide you with the set up instructions again. You can also reference the setup instructions that were emailed to you or by going to the Minds2021 App section of the participant support webpage.

If you are using an iPhone, you may receive pop-up messages at various times throughout the study asking if you would like the Minds 2021 app to continue to allow location use. Please make sure to select Always Allow to keep the settings needed for study participation. If you accidentally tap Change to Only While Using, don’t worry. You can go back to the phone's app settings. You can refer back to the Minds 2021 app guide to confirm what the settings should look like. This can be found in the online study guide or in the instructions that were emailed to you.

Allowing notifications on your phone will allow the Minds2021 app to send you your daily survey and other study activity reminders. If you see the message “Minds2021 would like to send you notifications,” click Allow.
